English: Minor cross-roads, Port Bannatyne After research, I believe the grand gate-posts in the background may have been an entrance to the Kyles of Bute Hydro (demolished), which in World War Two became HMS Varbel, the base for X-craft miniature submarines and human torpedoes.... can anyone confirm/repudiate this? |
