English: Minsmere: The Sluice and New Cut The view west from the "benthills" (marram grass-covered dunes) where the footpath from Eastbridge reaches the seashore. This leads to the gate on the left: the sealed track to the right is for the use of visitors to the RSPB bird sanctuary at Minsmere. The New Cut carries the waters of the Minsmere River more directly out to sea via the sluice (in foreground) than did the Old River whose course used to swing in an arc to the north of the marshes and close to Coney Hill. |
