Summary edit

Description
English: Tradition has it that the host from the miracle of Amsterdam in 1345, was kept in this chest. This is in fact an archives chest belonging to the Sacraments Guild of the chapel of the Holy City. This religious guild was responsible for the upkeep of the chapel altar. In 1578 all property of Roman Catholic organizations was parcelled out, and this chest went to the City Orphanage. The story goes that the chest was placed in the attic, after the claims of several orphans that they had been cured of their illness by sitting on the chest.
