English: A Missile Technology Conclave-cum-Symposium themed ‘Aatmanirbharta in Missile Repairs and Indigenisation Technologies (AMRIT-2022)’, was organised by the Indian Navy in collaboration with AP Electronics and IT Agency(APEITA) at Visakhapatnam on 01 July 2022. Shri Gudivada Amarnath, IT Minister of Govt of Andhra Pradesh was the Chief Guest of the Symposium and Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, CINC ENC was the Guest of Honour. Hon'ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Biswabhusan Harichandan delivered a special address through virtual mode. The Symposium had an overwhelming response from a large number of participating agencies such as DRDO, PSUs, DPSUs, Indian Private Defence industry, MSMEs/ Start-ups, representatives from State Government and National Agencies involved in Indigenisation such as Technology Development Fund (TDF) of DRDO, Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) and Innovation for Defence Excellence IDEX. Delivering the inaugural address, Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, CINC ENC focused on indigenisation. He urged all the stakeholders and participants of the symposium to collectively steer the Nation towards Aatmanirbharta in Missile Technology. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gudivada Amarnath, IT Minister complimented the ENC and APEITA for the initiative. He added that the Defence sector has been identified as one of the key sectors focusing on establishing state-of the art infrastructure, providing conducive regulatory environment for investors, fostering innovation, promoting skill development and creating employment opportunities by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. The academia partners from Andhra University and National Research and Development Corporation (NRDC) actively engaged in the discussions and have assured widening their research in the niche domain of missile technology. Exhibition stalls were also set-up during the event, wherein the participating agencies and firms showcased their technical expertise and capabilities in the field of Missile Repairs and Indigenisation. |
