Description
Deutsch: Mitterteich, Kirchplatz 1, Pfarrkirche St. Jakob: Statue Hl. Elisabeth von Thüringen (auch als Elisabeth von Ungarn bezeichnet, da in Ungarn geboren). Durch die angedeuteten Rosen wird auf das sog. Rosenwunder verwiesen: man hatte Elisabeth bei ihrem Mann, Landgraf Ludwig IV, wegen angeblicher Verschwendung angeschwärzt. Als er sie dann eines Tages mit einem Deckelkorb antraf, wollte er sehen, was in dem Korb sei. Als Elisabeth wie gewünscht den Korb (in welchem tatsächlich Brot für arme Dorfbewohner war) öffnete, sah Ludwig der Erzählung nach aber nur rote Rosen
