Site d'information sur les danses sacrées www.buddhaline.net/Danses-sacrees-du-Tibet-Le-Tcham Manifestation organisée dans le cadre des Journées tibétaines pour la Paix (27 mai-2 juin 2012) au Parc oriental Site du parc oriental www.parc-oriental.com/ Le site du tour européen des moines de Sera pour promouvoir la culture tibétaine traditionnelle. www.seratour.org/ Le monastère de Séra a été fondé en 1419 au Tibet par le grand maître Jamchèn Cheujé Shakya Yéshi, l’un des principaux disciples de Lama Tsongkhapa (1357-1419). Lors de sa construction initiale, un certain type de buisson appelé séwa entourait le site comme une barrière. Le monastère a donc été nommé « Séra » (sé provenant de séwa, et ra signifiant « barrière »). Depuis, le monastère s’est développé et est devenu l’une des plus grandes universités monastiques du toit du monde. Ce développement a progressé jusqu’à sa destruction en 1959 au cours de l’occupation communiste chinoise. Le monastère comptait alors environ 9000 moines. Des milliers d’entre eux ont été tués, beaucoup d’autres ont été emprisonnés. Seuls quelques uns ont pu s’échapper et s’exiler en Inde. Les traditions monastiques ont depuis été rétablies et préservées jusqu’à nos jours. En 1970, près de Mysore dans le sud de l’Inde a été créé le Sera Mayahana Monastic University in Exile. |
