Description
Deutsch: Nasenschild in Montabaur, Werbhausgasse 1. Das alte Haus der kleinen Gaststätte soll bereits 1476 als „offene Herberge“ erwähnt sein. Im 17./ 18. Jhd. wurde es „Gasthalterei“ und hieß angeblich damals schon „Zum heiligen Geist“. Die Bezeichnung Werbhaus rührt daher, dass Gasthäuser als Werbelokale für Soldaten benutzt wurden, die sich für ein Handgeld freiwillig zum Soldatendienst meldeten. (Siehe Homepage der Stadt Montabaur.)
