Description
English: Eugene Montagu (Monty) Scott (1835-1909). Interior of the Exhibition Building, Prince Alfred Park, Sydney.

Lithograph of the interior of the Exhibition Building at Prince Alfred Park which was the first park to be laid out in connection with a major Australian Exhibition; the Inter-colonial Exhibition held in 1870 to mark the centenary of Captain Cook’s landing at Botany Bay. It predated the first International Exhibition in the Garden Palace in the Sydney Domain (1879) and the world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne (1880). It was demolished in 1954.
