Description
English: Memorial of Frejus Tunnel works in Piazza Statuto, in Torino. This monument was designed by Marcello Panissera di Veglio and completed in 1879. The rocks come from the excavation of the tunnel, and the engineers names ( Sommeiller, Grattoni, Grandis ) are carved on the top, beside the Genius. The Genius, originally crowned with a five-point star, lost it between 2007 and 2015.
