Description

The original generator house for the Moody Brook transmitter. Generator mounts can still be seen in the concrete. It was a large buttressed brick building described as being 'bomb proof' by the builders!

The large building was later used as a barrack block, and during one period of forced confinement in camp the local Royal Marines nicknamed the accommodation Belsen Block.

It was deemed unsafe after the 1982 conflict and was demolished with some difficulty.
