English: Moor House (2) The Keys to the Past website says "The derelict farm of Moor Houses stands on the east side of Allendale. The western part of a range of buildings to the west of the farmhouse is a bastle. It has walls about 0.8m thick and in the centre of the west wall is the original byre doorway, now blocked. Several other bastle features can be seen including various blocked openings. The bastle was extended in the 17th century and the latest farmhouse was added in the 19th century. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law." |
