Summary edit

Description
English: Moorland near the summit of Pappert Hill Although Pappert Hill is encircled by coniferous woodland, the area immediately around the summit is clear of trees, and consists of heather-covered moorland.

Beyond the trees, several snow-covered peaks can be seen. The nearer peak, positioned centrally in the photograph, is Knockshanoch (for the view from that peak back towards the photographer's position, see https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1019848 ).

On the skyline, at the extreme right of the image, is the highest point of Meikle White Hill ( https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1029438 ); for the view back from that hill, see https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1019684.

In the left-hand side of the image, an area of distant woodland can be seen ( https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1029345 ); beyond this is the snow-capped peak of Knockupple ( https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1360197 ), with a lower snow-covered terrace surrounding the summit. (The names Knockupple and Knockshanoch both contain the Gaelic element "cnoc", meaning "knoll", "rounded hill", "eminence".)
