English: Moraines The hummocks on the far side of the River Loanan here are moraines left by the last glaciation. One moraine, partly hidden in this view, is a curved terminal moraine which marked the snout of a valley glacier. Recent studies of these deposits have modified the postulated distribution and extent of ice sheets between 15,000 and 10,000 years ago. |
