Summary edit

Description
English: Moseley Old Hall. This National Trust property played a part in the escape of King Charles II following the Battle of Worcester in 1651. The house was built for the catholic Whitgreave family at the start of the 17th Century. The house has a clandestine priest hole and it was in this that the king was hidden during the two days before arrangements could be made for him to continue on his way. The original exterior of the hall is hidden by Victorian brickwork. This is a staging point on the Monarch's Way footpath tracing the king's escape.
