English: Mount Batten Breakwater Looking down on the breakwater from the path to the top of Mount Batten. It gives protection to the Cattewater from southwesterly weather. It is a popular spot for Plymothians, having been rejuvenated since this area was relinquished by the RAF in the 1990's. The warship in the distance is the Dutch frigate F802 HNLMS De Zevin Provincien, returning to Devonport Naval Base during training exercises. The three prominent tower blocks on the skyline contain council housing in the Devonport area of Plymouth. |
