You know how on clear days, one can see Mount Rainier from Seattle and Mount Fuji from Tokyo? In such a time when pollution is becoming more global and threatening urban visibility? Well, the same thing can be applied on Kota Kinabalu city with Mount Kinabalu. Being a citizen of KK allows one to see Malaysia's highest peak on a daily basis as the prominent silhouette dominates a section of the eastern horizon. And for travelers, it is a unique way to appreciate the view of the mountain. Get lucky (when air pollution levels are near-zero and the sky is void of clouds) and one can witness Mt. Kinabalu in her true majesty. If the mountain is visible beyond 11 am on any given morning, consider yourself even more lucky, as the details of the mountain slopes facing the city will get front-lit. |
