Text Appearing Before Image:
thepanel, the noise it made jarred the building andsent a loud echo rolling and tumbling down themountain. The little girl thought, What have Idone? If the Thunder is taking a nap beforedinner, he 11 be very angry. She waited a little while, not feeling verycomfortable. Presently she heard heavy footstepscoming down the wide hall to the door. I thought I heard some one knocking/ saida hoarse, gruff voice. Then the big door flewopen, and there, standing before her, the little girlsaw a huge figure that towered almost to the topof the high door. It wore heavy boots, a bigovercoat, and under its long, thick beard therewas a muffler a yard wide. The little girl wasvery much frightened at first, but she soon re-membered that there was nothing for such a littlebit of a girl to be afraid of. The figure, that seemed to be so terrible atfirst glance, had nothing threatening about it. Who knocked at the door ? it cried. Its voice sounded so loud that the little girlput her fingers in her ears.
