English: The reciprocating motion of the pistons is converted to elliptical motion of the central orbital shaft, this to rotary motion of the fixed-axis shafts. The orbital shaft has 2 narrow, large-radius counterweights simulating the "missing" piston pair, but lighter, and counterweights in the gears on opposite sides to compensate for the offset of the piston running lines, to achieve perfect balance. |
