Français : Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône, Provence, France), musée des Alpilles, croix de bateliers du Rhône du XVIIIe siècle en bois sculpté et peint, provenant de Beaucaire (Gard). Elle porte quelques instruments symboliques de la Passion du Christ et était placée à l'arrière de la première barque du convoi. Ces croix de mariniers ou d'équipage étaient fabriquée en Ardèche dans la région de Condrieux et de Serrières.
English: Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (Bouches-du-Rhône, Provence, France), the Alpilles museum, 18th century Rhone boatmen's cross in carved and painted wood, from Beaucaire (Gard). It carries some symbolic instruments of the Passion of Christ and was placed at the back of the first boat of the convoy. These sailors' or crew's crosses were made in Ardèche in the Condrieux and Serrières region. |
