English: Portrait of Margherita Gonzaga, Duchess of Lorraine (1591-1632), daughter of Henry II, Duke of Lorraine
Italiano: "ritratto di Margherita Gonzaga. La scritta sul retro induce a vedervi il ritratto di Margherita Gonzaga (1591-1632) ma il dipinto è stato esposto come ritratto di Caterina de' Medici [1593-1629] figlia di Ferdinando I granduca di Toscana e moglie di Ferdinando IV Gonzaga, alla "MOstra Gonzaghesca" del 1937. A quell'epoca era nella Villa di Poggio a Caiano. Si tratta di un discreto dipinto arieggiante i modi del Pourbus. Secondo una vecchia scheda ottocentesca sul retro si leggevano i seguenti numeri, ora scomparsi: 612, 592, 680, 1595, 4866, 359" [1]
