Jan. 2, 1875; grad. of West Denver high school 1893; mining engineer; U. S. land surveyor; m. Dec. 24,1912, Ethel Roberts. 2. Ethel May, b. Dec. 11, 1S76. at Richland, So. Cross Line Generation IV—Great-grandparents. 4 and 5. Theodore Cross, b. Methuen, near Lawrence, Sun-day, Aug. 25, 1765; d. near Antwerp, X. Y., April 28, 1833, andbur. at Antwerp; millwright and farmer; lived at Weare, N. H.,where nine children were born, and three or four years at Goffs-town, N. H., where Gorham was born. In 1818 he went to Jeffer-son Co., in northern New York, and made in the wilderness a homefor his family at Pogueland, town of Philadelphia, three miles southof Antwerp. To that home in 1820 he brought his family, exceptthe eldest children. When fifteen years old he greatly desired tojoin the Revolutionary Army, but his mother objected, as shealready had in that army several sons, step-sons and brothers. Hejoined the Bradford Congregational church in 1791. That he wasa deeply religious man appears from a long letter written to hisWife from Jefferson Co. in Dec, 1818, about one-half of whichis devoted to religion and theology.
