Summary edit
DescriptionMycena rutilantiformis (Murrill) Murrill 237514.jpg |
Mycena rutilantiformis (Murrill) Murrill Image location: Snow Peak, Lacomb, Oregon, USA These are the same mushrooms as in Britney Wharton’s observation 100072 (week ago). Big thanks to Britney and Brian for leading me today to the spot and finding the remaining mushrooms. Growing on an abandoned logging road; Doug firs the only trees nearby. Odor raphanoid, stem hollow, flesh yellow at top, white below. Spores 7-8 × 4-4.5 microns. The spore size eliminates M. pelianthina. Very good match with the description of M. rutilaniformis, except for the habitat (“deciduous trees” in the description). Used references: Maas Geesteranus, Smith
