Description
English: A mysterious "Green Man" foliate mask on the keystone of the cross vault in the tower chapel of Ligerz, Biel/Bienne administrative district, Canton of Bern, Switzerland. The former choir of the previous church building from the late middle ages, which was demolished at the beginning of the 16th century, was bricked up and forgotten until the renovation of the tower in 2008/2009.
Français : Le mystérieux "masque d'homme sauvage" figurant sur la clef de voûte dans la chapelle de l'église de Gléresse, lieu qui avait constitué autrefois le chœur de l'église.
Deutsch: Die rätselhafte Blattmaske auf dem Schlussstein des Kreuzgewölbes in der Turmkapelle Ligerz, dem alten Chorraum der spätmittelalterlichen Vorgängerkirche, der seit dem Beginn des 16. Jahrhunderts vermauert und bis zur Renovation des Kirchturms 2008/2009 vergessen war.
