Description
Français : Prenant sa source en Gâtine à 225 m d'alt., le Thouet s'écoule ensuite sur 140 km plein nord, avant de se jeter dans la Loire en aval de Saumur (49).

Il arrose entre autres Parthenay, Airvault, Thouars et enfin Montreuil-Bellay.

Mais la présence de plusieurs espèces de nénuphars, certaines invasives, pouvant être un marqueur écologique signalant une eau de bonne qualité, et à l'origine d'une grande part de la renommée de la rivière, ne fait pas que des heureux...
