Kommentar: Die 1418 durch König Sigismund I. eingerichtete Reichsmünze zu Nördlingen ist 1431 zusammen mit den Reichsmünzstätten Frankfurt und Basel zur Schuldentilgung an Konrad von Weinsberg verpfändet worden. Konrad von Weinsberg konnte (und mußte) deshalb sein Wappen auf die königlichen Münzen setzen. Da die königlichen Schulden beim Tode Konrads 1452 nicht eingelöst waren, blieb das Pfand und damit das Recht zum Betreiben königlicher Münzstätten in der Familie Weinsberg. Von dort gelangte es durch Erbvertrag 1503 in den Besitz der Grafen von Eppstein-Königstein und später der Linie Stolberg-Königstein, die es im 16. Jh. ausübten.
