Description
English: Community and Labour activists gathered on Monday June 27th at the Halifax Almon Street Post Office to escort our sisters and brothers in the postal workers union back to work... Here, local NDP Members of Parliament Peter Stoffer and Robert Chisholm speak to the workers and members of the community before workers re-entered the workplace.

Canadian Union of Postal Workers was ordered back to work by the Harper government (in an unprecedented piece of anti-union back-to-work legislation during an employer lock-out of workers) and has been forced into an unfair arbitration process. Canada Post Corporation on the other hand has been assisted by the Harper Conservatives every step of the way.

Shame on Stephan Harper.

Postal workers have inspired and amazing workers across the country with their courage and action on the picket lines. Community members and members of several unions gathered on Monday June 27th to escort them to work and stand in solidarity wth our brothers and sisters from CUPW.

Despite the back-to-work legislation, the struggle continues.
