Dear Jack Well

Jack old boy how is the game. I have not had a line from you for ages. I am still over here in France but it is not to safe a place to be in. They are throwing iron foundry about to much over here & they are not particular who they hit with them. They all say this fighting over here is the worst they have had so far I will be quite satisfied if I get out of it, they will want a team of horses to drag me to the next one if I get out of this one alright. Well old boy I will stop now. Remember me to all at home, your old cobber Perc. Get my address from home & write soon.
