English: The "New River Gorge Bridge" spanning the New River Gorge near the town of Fayetteville, West Virginia, USA. At the time of opening, it was considered the highest bridge East of the Mississippi River (876')(267m) and one of the longest spans in the world. During a weekend in October, the Northbound lane is closed to vehicular traffic and pedestrians can assimilate on the bridge for the day's festivities known as "Bridgeday" (http://www.bridgeday.info/videogallery.php).
