Description

NSF and Rep. Frank Wolf cosponsored an event, “Change the World: Science & Engineering Careers Fair at Dulles Town Center.” The event was held at a shopping mall just outside of Washington, D.C., on Sept. 27 and 28, 2013, and was targeted at middle and high school students and their families. The goal was to encourage students to take science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) courses and consider STEM-based careers. Joan Ferrini-Mundy, NSF assistant director for education and human resources, and Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.) preview a demonstration on materials science and thin films, one of the interactive exhibits that filled two floors of the mall.
