The charity Mutter und Kind ('Mother and Child') was established in Nazi Germany in 1934. Its purpose was to support pregnant women and young mothers, who were deemed to be "Aryan," and their offspring. The charity was under the authority of the Main Office for People's Welfare in the Reichsleitung of the NSDAP (Nazi party). The tasks of the charity included supporting families, providing care for mothers, and taking care of children in kindergartens. The work was primarily carried out by volunteers, particularly members of the NS-Frauenschaft and the NS-Volkswohlfahrt.
