Description
English: Western Australian Government Railways N class 4-4-4T stored at Midland workshops, February 1966. This is presumably No.201 which was withdrawn in 1960 and is now preserved at the railway museum at Bassendean. No.201 was built by Robert Stephenson & Co. in 1898, their No.2886. There were a total of 42 N class, and they were very successful in suburban service in Perth and Kalgoorlie. the 4-4-4T wheel arrangement is very unusual, and I think the WAGR N class was the only example of its use in Australia.
