eMaan als hunnen zichtbaren God
eere aandoen , en godsdienftig
aan-
bidden, hebbende reeds hier voren
gezegt, dat zy de Maan met den
naam van den Groten Kapitein ver-
eeren, waar mede zy niets anders
verltaan, als dat onder dezen
zichtaren God de onzichtbare
moet verltaan , en te gelyk ook
aangeroepen worden. Daaren-
boven heb ik ook geftadig en
zoo vele jaren na elkanderen waar-
genomen, dat zy by de Nieuwe en
Volle Maan gantfche nachten dan
zen en zingen, en zich ook met
fchreuwuwen en handgeklap ta-
mclyk ver laten horen.

Het is zeer raar en zeldzaam aan
te zien, wat bekken deze men-
fchen daar by trekken; dan leggen
zy zich met het blote lichaam, zoo
als zy altvd gewoon zyn te gaan,
op de aarde,en fchreeuwen en zin-
gen cenige onverslaanbare woor-
den luid keels; dan ftaan zy we-
derom op, en zien na de Maan
met hard fchreeuwen, en zingen
dan de woorden: Mutfchi Atze,
dat is, weeft gegroet, óf welekom;
Senihar ëatzé, dat is , maak dat
wy veel honing bekomen ; Chora-
quakahá chori Ounqia , dat is,
maak dat ons vee te eeten kryge
en veel melk geve.
Ter zelver tyd klappen zy met
de handen en danzen met eenen,
en herhalen deze en andere woor-
den ontallig dikwyls; ten laatften
befluiten zy den dans met het ge-
zang Ho Ho Ho Ho, 't welk ne-
vens het daar onder gemengt
handgeklap een fraai muficq
is,voor de genen, die het nooit
meer gehoort hebben; edoch kan
de Lezer van hun muficq daar van
geen recht denkbeeld hebben,
maar om dezelve hier net te be-fchryven
lyd nog de tyd nog de
voorhebbende materie
