Description

SI Neg. 95-9610. Date: 1995.

This meteorite - an igneous rock composed of crystals of pyroxene, olivine, and traces of feldspar - came from Mars. It fell near Nakhla al Baharia, close to Alexandria, Egypt, in 1911, and is about 1 billion years old.
