English: National Monuments Record Centre, Swindon. The NMRC is the impressive Victorian edifice in the distance, once the offices of the very large Great Western Railway factory that operated here for almost 150 years until ceasing work in 1986. It is about 800 metres from the viewpoint in Radnor Street cemetery. The fairly modern roof in the foreground is in Fairview and the collection of domestic chimneys marks the location of the Railway Village, a well-conserved example of an industrial housing estate 511603 |
