Description

A few hours up from Chukkung, we stayed a night at this base camp at 5070m. If you are not adjusted fully to the altitude you can stay an extra day or 2 here, but be warned, the area is pretty much a sind tunnel so it can be quite cold as soon as the sun disappears, especially if you're hanging out for hours.

We were there just for the afternoon, had an early dinner than off to bed for an early 3am alpine start.

There are usually several groups attempting the climb at the same time, but the number varies considerably, so one day the camp will be bustling, the next half the tents will be gone. The day we climbed there was only 1 other group going up.
