Summary edit

Description
English: Water channel leading into the Settling basin at the Grüner Pütz spring in the area of Nettersheim in the Urft river valley - the beginning of the 95 km aqueduct which used to bring water to the city of Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium (present-day Cologne). The settling basin was also a ritual / religious place. The aqueduct is considered as one of the biggest Roman engineering constructions north of Alps. In parallel to the aqueduct there is a hiking road - Römerkanal Wanderweg, leading from Nettersheim to Köln - it is 111 km long.
