English: FORT RICHARDSON, Alaska - U.S. Army, Pacific Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Benjamin R. Mixon passes the U.S. Army Alaska colors to Maj. Gen. William J. Troy during an assumption of command ceremony here Sept. 11. Before becoming the 34th commander of U.S. Army Alaska, Troy served as vice director for Force Structure, Resources, and Assessment, J-8, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. He also was the deputy commanding general of I Corps and Fort Lewis at Fort Lewis, Wash., from July 2006 to July 2007.


Maj. Gen. William J. Troy, U.S. Army Alaska commanding general, accepts the USARAK colors from U.S. Army Pacific commanding general Lt. Gen. Benjamin R. Mixon Sept. 11 during Troy's assumption of command ceremony at Fort Richardson's Pershing Field. Col. Edward B. Daly relinquished command after serving as USARAK commander for two months.
