Summary edit

Description I found these growing richly under a huge hawk or eagle nest in a Calafate bush on the Patagonian steppe. As this ancient shrub was the only tree in sight, it must've been continuously occupied by this family of eagles for hundreds(?) of years. Making for a *very* nitrogen rich environment. The bark of it and everything around it was simply covered with xanthorioids and other nitrophilic crusts like these.
