| Description |
English: No cycling sign on a post, Deadman Hill, New Forest. This damaged sign is fixed to a short gatepost off the gravel track to the disused car park on Deadman Hill. "Forest roads" are the metalled highways and the gravel tracks on the heathland, and in the pasture woods and silvicultural inclosures. The open Forest is Crown land and there are few (if any) bridleways, or footpaths. There are by-laws that restrict cycling to the forest roads, although it doesn't seem to be the case that this law is rigorously enforced. For the context of this sign see 466250. |
