Description
Norsk bokmål: Den første norske squadron som kom i virksomhet i april 1941 på Island med Northrop sjøfly og senere Catalina flybåter flyttet for en tid siden til Storbritannia, hvor den har fått Sunderland fly til disposisjon. Siden starten har denne squadron i Coastal Command eskortert mange hundre konvoyer og rettet harde slag mot tyske u-båter og fly. Med sine langtrekkende flybåter - Sunderland har en aksjonsradius på inntil 2900 miles - er de norske flygerne nå midt oppe i det tilintetgjørende slag mot u-båtene. På bildet ser en en av de norske Sunderland-flybåtene i kystkommandoen på vei ut mot Atlanteren. (Original bildetekst til foto med L-nummer 8741, London 18.01.1944)
