Description
English: U.S. Navy North American RA-5C Vigilante (BuNo 150839, 150841, ?) of Reconnaissance Heavy Attack Squadron 5 (RVAH-5) "Savage Sons" take off from the on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CVA-60) on 17 April 1964. The photo was probably taken during carrier qualifications, as RVAH-5 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 9 (CVW-9) (tail code "NG"), whereas CVW-3 (tail code "AC") was assigned to the Saratoga.
