English: Rosemary's Thyme Bistro (left), a Mediterranean-style restaurant, located at 1801 18th Street, N.W., in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Built in the early 1870s, the brick, Italianate-style, building originally served as a private residence, but was converted into a grocery store for German American Wilhelm Schmidt around 1900. During the latter half of the 20th century, the property was home to a Safeway store, a food co-op called the Stone Soup Community Market, and the original home of Lauriol Plaza, now located in a larger facility on the same block. The building is designated as a contributing property to the Dupont Circle Historic District, a historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
