Русский: Представленные здесь примитивные архитектурные наброски с подробными пояснениями входят в коллекцию из 27 рисунков на 15 листах, обнаруженных в 1986 г. в Национальной библиотеке Южной Африки. Ценность этих рисунков заключается в том, что они содержат самые ранние реалистичные изображения представителей народности кой-коин, коренных жителей Западно-Капской провинции. Архитектурные чертежи; Перспектива Français : Ces esquisses d’architecture élémentaire avec des notes détaillées font partie d’un ensemble de 27 dessins sur 15 feuilles qui a été découvert à la Bibliothèque nationale d’Afrique du Sud en 1986. L’importance des dessins réside dans l’illustration des premières représentations réalistes des Khoïkhoï, les premiers habitants du Cap-Occidental. L’artiste était fort probablement un Néerlandais, né au XVIIe siècle, qui occupait une certaine fonction à la Compagnie néerlandaise des Indes orientales. Il se dirigeait vraisemblablement vers les Indes orientales néerlandaises ou rentrait aux Pays-Bas, quand il a visité le Cap. Des indications laissent à supposer que les dessins ont été réalisés au plus tard en 1713, et probablement même beaucoup plus tôt. Dessins architecturaux; Perspective English: These elementary architectural sketches with extensive notes are from a set of 27 drawings on 15 sheets that was discovered in the National Library of South Africa in 1986. The drawings are important for presenting the earliest realistic depictions of the Khoikhoi people, the original inhabitants of the Western Cape. The artist most likely was a Dutchman, born in the 17th century, who was attached in some capacity to the Dutch East India Company and possibly en route to the Dutch East Indies or on his way back to the Netherlands when he visited the Cape. Evidence suggests that the drawings were made no later than 1713, and possibly a good deal earlier. Unlike most of the drawings, which have annotations in Dutch made by another person after 1730, the text on this page appears to be by the artist, presumably in his own hand. The notes contain observations on the use of perspective by artists and master builders and the differences and similarities in the methods used by each profession.
