Tranverse section of the cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris, highlighting the wooden roof framing in yellow.
The factual accuracy of this cross-section is disputed.
The interior structure of the framing of the roof is not as it was in 2019 when destroyed by fire (it was cross-braced in a more complex manner, and pitched at 55 degrees, not 45 as shown here). This may therefore show the roof before 19th-century renovations.

English: English: Transverse section of the cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris, showing the triangular wooden roof trusses supporting the sheet-lead roof. The trusses and rafters are highlighted in yellow (please note that the interior shape of the framing is inaccurate, and the real roof was pitched at 55 degrees, not 45 as shown here). Below this wooden framing, the curved masonry vault forms the interior ceiling. Both frames and vault were heavily damaged in the 2019 fire.
