Description

Alexander von Humboldt II is a German sailing ship and is the successor of the legendary Becks beer ship with the green sails. It was built as a replacement for the ship Alexander von Humboldt, which had been launched in 1906 and used for sail training since 1988. It is one of the largest sailing ships in the international fleet of tall ships.

HMCS Oriole is the sail training vessel of the Royal Canadian Navy. She is a sailing ketch, currently the oldest and longest serving commissioned vessel in the Royal Canadian Navy. The vessel was first acquired by the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War, then returned to private ownership at the end of the war. It was reacquired during the Cold War for use on the East Coast of Canada before switching to the West Coast of Canada permanently in 1956.
