Summary edit

Description
English: Now only accommodating a water pipe The Cromford Canal became disused in the early 20th century when its Butterley Tunnel was undermined by coal working. A few parts of the canal still hold water, such as here in the Golden Valley of Derbyshire, where reeds would make even passage by canoe difficult. The accommodation bridge originally linked fields either side of the canal but subsequent development has seen it lose any purpose other than to support the water pipe cantilevered alongside.
