Description
English: Kenya's Coastal region thrives on tourism and the fishing activities of the locals. During the low tourism seasons, the locals focus more on fishing as an income generating activity.

Octopus fishing is executed in the simplest of ways.

During low tides, the fishermen scout the reef poking into the crevasses with sticks to draw out the octopuses. When they find one, they aggressively pierce it with the stick and draw it out of the water then slap its head to kill it. A blackish blood-like fluid explodes out of the octopus as it dies slowly.

The fisherman then stores the catch in his plastic pouch and the hunt continues!
