Description

Documenta 13 Kassel 2012.

English: Artwork by Christodoulos Panayiotou (1978 Limassol, Cyprus; living in Paris and Limassol) for dOCUMENTA (13). Panayiotou has brought to the Hauptbahnhof of Kassel a set of recently removed electricity-supply poles from the city of Limassol in Cyprus. For Panayiotou the old wooden poles summarize a series of charged layers. They indicate the changes in the illumination infraestructure and also the disappearance of a form of comunication where the poles have been used as boards to fix snippets of paper; from political messages to popular, personal or comercial advertisements.
