English: This is the official Memorial Exhibit honoring US Air Force (USAF) Technical Sergeant (TSGT) John A. Chapman, Combat Controller, 24th Special Tactics Squadron (STS), inside the Enlisted Heritage Hall (BLDG 1210), Maxwell-Gunter Air Force Base (AFB), Alabama (AL). The three dignitaries in the foreground are (left to right): Mrs. Valerie Chapman, TSGT Chapman’s wife; Madison Chapman, his daughter; and Mrs. Terry Giaccone; his mother. TSGT Chapman was killed in the eastern highlands of Afghanistan while rescuing US Navy (USN) SEAL (Sea-Air-Land) Neil Roberts on March 4, 2002. TSGT Chapman was posthumously awarded the Air Force Cross for extraordinary heroism in military operations against an armed enemy of the United States. |
