board Gallery at the western and the OfficeGallery at the eastern ends, there are no galleries in Machinery Hall, and thereis none in the Steam, Gas and Fuels Building. This, supplementing a good arrangement of skylights and windows, makes the natural light and ventilation particularlygood in all sections and adds greatly to the comfort of exhibitors and visitors. Those who have occasion to visit the Executive Offices of the Department ofMachinery and the headquarters of the American Society of Mechanical Engi-neers will find them on the gallery at the central eastern entrance. They can bereached either by stairs or by the elevator on Aisle 3, Block 5. The architects of the Palace of Machinery are Messrs. Widman, Walsh &Boisselier of St. Louis. They prepared the design or daring but eflfective externalpicture. The framing of the structure, its intricate system of roof supports, etc.,was planned in the Division of Works under instructions from Mr. Isaac S. Taylor,Director of Works.
